The reserach of the IMP Group is based on the idea that business is not an isolated activity that occurs within independent organisations, but that it consists of interaction between interdependent companies, whether as customers, suppliers, development partners, facilitators or competitors.

A large number of research studies have investigated interaction between individual companies and organisations, and the wider network that surrounds them. This research has led to the development of ideas on the characteristics of business relationships and networks, on the processes within them and on how individual companies can operate in these arenas.

It is now time to create a new forum for high quality of research into business interaction; The IMP Journal. We hope that the journal will ……………………

Welcome to visit Uppsala STS, or Uppsala University, Centre for Science and Technology Studies (www.sts.uu.se). The aim of Uppsala STS is to investigate the relation between science, technology and society – business included. A special interest is devoted to the role of science and business development – and to develop an alternative perspective on the fad of today; to consider science and innovations as resources more or less ready to be tapped for economic values by businesses.

Hi, during my recent speech at the IMP conference in Copenhagen, I talked about whether or not there is a need for an “IMP 3” project. What I was referring to was a multi-country empirical project to develop new ideas and theory, it wouldn’t need to be called “IMP 3” at all. Is there any interest in this? I wanted to post this message as a completely open and transparent invitation. If anyone is interested, could you please email me at Debbie.Harrison@bi.no to start some discussions over mail first, with a possibility for a meeting at BI later on. Of course the themes and ideas for the project would need to be discussed and worked through as a group.

Don’t be afraid to click around the website and punch whatever you find to punch on, unless you have added papers or books you would like to keep intact there is nothing you can damage. In fact we would like to encourage you to try out the different functions of the website both so that you can get a hold of how it works and so that we can be able to see how the website function “in action”. Whatever you add you can also modify and delete the second you add it, so you can play around as much as you wish without leaving any traces. And if you would reveal a bug during your adventure you know who to tell, don’t you? 🙂

If you would like an e-mail adress like username@impgroup.org we can arrange that for you, just send us a mail. It would be a forwarding adress to any other e-mail adress you like.

We added another function to this website, called “Courses”. You can find it on the menu to the left. The section is available for everybody to read and thus lecturers can add their course there and then simply direct their students to this website if they want to find information about it. That way they’ll also be able to find other courses posted by other lecturers that they didn’t knew existed…
