PETER W TURNBULL
1943-2015
Peter died on November 30th after a long illness.
Peter was one of the founders of the IMP Research Group and was closely involved in designing and implementing a number of the Groups projects. Peter published widely, particularly on business relationships and portfolio management, as well as supervising a number of PhD students in the area.
Peter organised the first IMP conference and was the originator of the IMP Journal. He spent most of his career at the Manchester School of Management, where he became Professor of Marketing. He subsequently moved to the University of Birmingham, where he became Head of the Business School.
Even during his long illness, Peter still managed to attend IMP Conferences at which he made a series of entertaining speeches over many years.
Peter will be remembered as a fine teacher, an insightful researcher and a strong administrator. But most of all he will be remembered as a caring friend and as a great source of fun for all who were privileged to know him.
