This paper focuses on managing in emerging strategic nets aiming at developing newbusiness concepts or services. Strategic nets are intentionally formed coalitions of alimited number of actors (Möller and Svahn 2003, Gulati 1998). The aim of theseemerging nets is to develop new technologies, products or business concepts. Theuncertain and dynamic character of emerging technologies and new businessopportunities pose special conditions for management in this kind of environment.Therefore, how actors influence in managing and organizing of emerging strategic netsrequire capabilities that go beyond the management in more stable network environment.The paper has three purposes: first, to illustrate emerging nets, second, to examine thevalidity of the value creation framework proposed by Möller and Svahn (2003) throughcase study, and third, to identify the management capabilities that are relevant inmanaging emerging nets. A case of emerging net in the ICT-industry is employed MSNportal.
