Business interest shaping networking boundaries

Authors: Kristin Munksgaard

Business interests are a driver for actors to engage in and support specific activities and business processes and not others. In a networked business landscape actors’ pursuit of self-interest imply motivating and influencing others, and promoting mutual and collective interests as a basis for developing their business (as well as their joint business). The effort of pursuing self and collective business interest inherently means creating room for (inter)action and thus for moving and negotiating along multiple dimensions of boundaries at the frontier of the strategic battlefield between business actors. This paper addresses the (business) interest of different actors striving to find sustainable solutions for one of the complex problems of society: reducing usage of antibiotics.
