CeLS WORKSHOP ON GLOBAL RETAIL SUPPLY CHAIN
AND MARKETING INNOVATION

Jönköping, Sweden, May 15-16 2008

The Centre of Logistics and Supply Chain Management (CeLS) at Jönköping International Business School (Jönköping, Sweden) and the Supply Chain and Logistics Management Research Lab at and Soochow University (Taipei, Taiwan) welcome practitioners and academics to a workshop on Global Retail Supply Chain and Marketing Innovation. All participants are invited to submit empirical or conceptual research papers. Practitioners are also welcome to submit practitioner
presentations concerning the conference theme and issues. The workshop format
is informal but structured to maximize the amount of discussion and interaction
between participants coming from academia and practice.

Submission of papers or practitioner presentations

Academic papers are selected on the basis of quality, originality and relevance to
the development of ideas within Global Retail Supply Chain and Marketing Innovation based on submitted abstracts. To facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practice, proposals on practitioner presentations are welcomed by the organizing committee. Any proposal matched well with the workshop theme will be invited to present in the workshop and join the dialogue between European and Asian retailers. Deadlines on academic papers

Submission of abstracts and presentation proposals January 5th 2008
Notification of acceptance January 31st 2008
Submission of full papers April 31st 2008

Conference theme and focus

Submissions and presentations of any aspect of Global Retail Supply Chain and
Marketing Innovation are welcome, but preferably concerning the following issues:
• Managing innovation and business renewal in retailing
• Challenges ahead for the retail industry
• Creating and delivering value in retailing through global partnerships
• Third party logistics development in the retail industry
• Environmental awareness and corporate responsibilities in global retail
• Retail management education for global expansion
• Knowledge and information management in the retail industry
• Theoretical and methodological developments of global retail

Submissions and inquiries and suggestions on practitioner presentations should

Key note speakers

An interesting selection of speakers representing both practitioners and academics
from Europe and Asia will be invited to address the conference theme.

Venue and accommodation

The Jönköping area with its 120,000 inhabitants is the tenth largest municipality
in Sweden and includes Huskvarna, the twin city of Jönköping, and the picturesque
and scenic town of Gränna on the eastern shore of Lake Vättern. Jönköping’s
strategic location in the heart of Sweden makes it excellent for communications.

Workshop fee and registration
The fee for the workshop is €250. The workshop fee includes attendance at all
sessions, refreshments and lunches, a copy of the proceedings including all papers
and presentations and attendance at the formal workshop dinner.
