This paper seeks to generate insights into how delegation and intervention strategies can be applied tomanage product innovation within networks. Hence, it concerns the main theme of this year’sconference: influencing and strategizing in networks. The paper commences with a brief introductionto the literature background and explains the concepts of network delegation and intervention. Itreports on the findings from four in-depth case studies, and focuses specifically on the appropriatenessof the delegation and intervention strategies in different situations. The paper concludes with a note onmanagerial implications.
