Clusters And Innovation In Biotechnology

Authors: Philip Rosson

This paper focuses on biotechnology innovation in a peripheral region of Canada. It views the industry sector from a cluster standpoint. The paper presents descriptive data on nine companies and 13 support organizations that have been visited as part of a continuing study. At this point in time, it is not clear whether the collection of organizations in Halifax, Nova Scotia represents a biotechnology ?cluster? as defined in the literature.
