Abstract
This paper suggests a new way of thinking about how an organisation becomes an ebusiness. It suggests that a good metaphor for doing this is to draw on the more familiar concept and much researched issue of firm internationalisation. Internationalisation refers t the process whereby a firm incrementally increases its commitment to international markets. Here we suggest a new term ? internetalisation, to refer to the process of a firm committing resources to Internet commerce and Internet mediated transactions, including communications and coordination of internal and external relations.
