Abstract
The paper discusses the role of experiential and entrepreneurial learning in the art anddesign business. Experiential learning is perceived to be a more appropriate conceptthan organisational learning for the study of micro-sized firms, especially in a networkcontext. We maintain that learning takes place in the relationships of network actors, ineveryday practices. Yet experiential learning always requires reflection on eitherpersonal or others' experiences. We also discuss the way the network's dominant logicaffects the learning process and what is learned. Moreover, we emphasise the role ofexperiential learning in adopting the dominant logic and of identifying the key actors onentering a network and building a focal net. The discussion builds on two sets of datafrom art and design industries and on previous literature on experiential learning.
