    Professor

    The Faculty of Business and Economics (HEC) of the University of Lausanne invites applications for a



    Full Professor or Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in Marketing



    to start in September 2009 or on a mutually determined date.



    We seek applicants with a doctorate in marketing and a strong research and teaching background in strategic marketing and / or services marketing.

    TEACHING LOAD AND RESPONSIBILITIES



    1st option - Full Professor



    The teaching load includes:



    • Strategic Marketing (Master): 1h / year (28h)

    • Services management and marketing (Bachelor): 1h / year (28h)

    • Quantitative Models & Methods in Marketing (Master): 2h / year (56h) & supervision of SPSS exercises given by an assistant

    • One or two courses to be determined (Master or Bachelor, total 2h / year each, 56h), preferably among the following: Sales Force Management, New Product Development, Purchase Marketing.



    which represents a teaching load of 6h / year (168 hours), to which must be added 1h / year (equivalent) to supervise student papers (bachelor theses, master theses etc.). Responsibilities also include usual tasks assigned to professors such as administering exams, advising students, supervising theses, participating in faculty / university meetings / commissions, and may include the direction of a program.





    2nd option - Assistant professor (tenure track)



    The teaching load is reduced to 4 h / year (112 hours) and includes:



    • Strategic Marketing (Master): 1h / year (28h)

    • Services management and marketing (Bachelor): 1h / year (28h)

    • Quantitative Models & Methods in Marketing (Master): 2h / year (56h) & supervision of SPSS exercises given by an assistant



    Responsibilities include administering exams, advising students, participating in faculty meetings, but excludes heavy administrative work such as the direction of a program or participating in commissions.





    RESEARCH



    • The candidate must have a strong commitment to research in marketing.

    • The candidate's research contributions must be robust, have been published in high standing international journals, and preferably have managerial implications.





    CANDIDATE PROFILE



    The candidate must :

    • Hold a Ph.D in Marketing

    • Have a strong record (Full professor) or a promising record (Assistant professor tenure track) of publications in high standing academic journals

    • Have strong pedagogical abilities

    • Have a good command of French and English allowing for teaching in both languages.





    SALARY



    State-determined, depending on the posted position.
